Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have an eye exam?

For adults with no known vision problems, we recommend an eye exam every 1-2 years. If you wear glasses or contacts, have a family history of eye disease, or are over 60, annual exams are recommended. Children should have their first exam at 6 months, then at age 3, before starting school, and every 1-2 years thereafter.

What's the difference between an eye exam for glasses and contacts?

A contact lens exam includes everything in a standard eye exam, plus additional measurements of your cornea and tear film to ensure proper lens fit. A contact lens fitting may also include trial lenses and follow-up visits to confirm comfort and vision.

Can I get prescription sunglasses?

Yes! We offer prescription sunglasses in a variety of styles from brands like Maui Jim and Costa. You can also choose photochromic lenses that automatically darken in sunlight for everyday glasses.

Are daily contact lenses better than monthly lenses?

Both options have benefits. Daily disposables offer maximum convenience and hygiene—you start fresh each day with no cleaning required. Monthly lenses are more cost-effective if you wear contacts every day. Our optometrists will recommend the best option based on your lifestyle, eye health, and budget.

My child needs glasses. What should I know?

Children's glasses need to be durable and comfortable. We carry frames designed specifically for kids with flexible materials and proper fit. We also recommend polycarbonate lenses for impact resistance. Our staff is experienced at helping children feel comfortable with their new glasses.
