Eye Exams

Overall eye health examination: Using a special magnifying lens, we examine the front and back of your eyes to check for signs of eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

Visual acuity measurement: We assess your ability to see at various distances by having you read letters or numbers on a chart. This test helps us determine your level of visual acuity and whether you need corrective lenses.

Eye muscle control and focus assessment: By having you follow a small light or the doctor’s finger as it moves in different directions, we can evaluate how well your eyes move together and focus.

Prescription determination: To find the ideal prescription for glasses or contact lenses, you’ll look through a phoropter, a device containing various lenses. As you view an eye chart, the doctor will switch the lenses to determine the best combination for your vision.

Additional tests: Depending on your individual needs, we may perform a color vision test to assess your ability to distinguish between different colors, as well as a tonometry test to measure the pressure inside your eyes and check for glaucoma.
